This Privacy Policy explains what information JimRan, LLC ("JimRan," "we," "us") collects when you visit jimran.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. JimRan Software™ is a trade name and product line of JimRan, LLC.

1. Summary

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site.
Analytics cookies load only if you accept them through our cookie banner.
We do not use the information we collect for direct marketing.
We never sell the information we collect.
You can decline analytics cookies at any time, with no loss of functionality.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information needed to operate and improve the Site:

Usage and analytics data — if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you visit, time spent, approximate geographic region, referring website, and general device and browser information. This is described further in Section 4.
Contact form information — if you use our contact form, we receive the information you choose to submit (such as your name, email address, and message) so we can respond to you.
Download records — when you download our software, our server records basic, limited technical information about the request (such as the file requested and a one-way hashed form of the visitor's IP address) to measure download volume and protect the service. We do not use these records to build marketing profiles.
Standard server logs — like most websites, our hosting provider may log basic request information for security and reliability.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through the Site, and we do not ask for it.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

Operate, maintain, and secure the Site;
Understand which content is useful so we can improve it;
Respond to messages you send us through the contact form;
Measure interest in our software.

We do not use the information we collect — including analytics or tracking information — for direct marketing. We do not send unsolicited promotional email based on your visit, and we do not run targeted advertising campaigns using this data.

We never sell the information we collect to any third party, and we do not trade or rent it for marketing purposes.

4. Google Analytics

This Site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC ("Google"). Google Analytics helps us see how visitors find and use the Site in aggregate.

When analytics is enabled (see Section 5), Google Analytics places cookies on your device and collects information about your use of the Site. That information is transmitted to and stored by Google on its servers. Google may process this data in accordance with its own policies.

We do not control the data that Google collects, stores, or processes through Google Analytics, and we cannot access or delete it on Google's systems. 5. Cookies and Your Choices

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. This Site uses cookies only for the analytics purpose described above; we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Analytics cookies are off by default. The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies:

Accept — Google Analytics loads and analytics cookies are set.
Decline — Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. The Site works exactly the same.

Your choice is remembered on your device so the banner does not appear again. You can change your mind at any time using the button below, or by clearing your browser's site data for jimran.com. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings.

Legal basis. Where we rely on analytics cookies, our legal basis is your consent, which you give by clicking "Accept" on the cookie banner. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 5) with no effect on your use of the Site. For responding to contact-form messages, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering your enquiry, or taking steps at your request.

Your rights. Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you;
Request correction of inaccurate data;
Request deletion of your data;
Object to or restrict certain processing;
Withdraw consent for analytics at any time;
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights with respect to data we hold (such as a contact-form message), use the contact details in Section 9. Please note that data collected by Google through Google Analytics is held by Google; requests concerning that data may need to be directed to Google (see Section 4).

7. Data Sharing and Retention

We do not sell your information and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only:

With service providers that help us operate the Site (for example, Google for analytics and our web host), strictly for that purpose;
Where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of JimRan, our users, or the public.

We keep contact-form messages only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and our records of it. Analytics data retention is governed by our Google Analytics configuration and Google's policies.

8. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for businesses and general audiences. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
